"Mizube Go!" Environmental Learning Program in India on November 18, 2025.

Building on the success of the FY2023 program, the Innovation Foundation for Water and Regional Revitalization continued its independent activities in 2025. With support from the Indian NGO MAMTA Health Institute for Mother and Child, the Innovation Foundation worked to promote and raise awareness of the "Water Environment Soundness Index.

  1. Place: Composite Government School, Village Kalda, outskirts of New Delhi, India
  2. Date and time: 10:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (local time), Tuesday, November 18, 2025

To educate local children to observe actual river water quality, water from the Upper Ganga Canal was collected the day before and brought to the class.

The program began with a message from the President of the Innovation Foundation, Yoshikazu Nomura: "Let’s think about the future of water together with those around you." This message was read by Executive Director Katsunobu Sakurai. Approximately 50 students (ages 6–14) and 11 teachers participated. Dr. Yasuo Shimizu, Director of the Water Culture Inheritance Project of the Innovation Foundation, explained the "Water Environment Soundness Index," river water environments, and water quality testing methods. He demonstrated how to measure Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) using a simple water quality test kit. Children then observed the canal water using transparency meters. A comparison was also made with the school’s well water. The students listened attentively and actively participated in the activities.

Additionally, in cooperation with the "Achhi Aadat Campaign" promoted by the JICA India Office, the Innovation Foundation supported local activities of FC Nono. FC Nono is NGO that uses soccer to address social issues in India. The workshop was implemented on Friday, November 14, 2025, in Bodh Gaya, Bihar State, in collaboration with Nihon Suido Consultants Co., Ltd. As part of the "good habits" promoted by the campaign, the Innovation Foundation helped raise awareness and understanding of the Water Environment Soundness Index to encourage water environment protection.

Note: “Achhi Aadat” means “good habit” in Hindi.
